Asbestos Testing
Asbestos testing is performed by collecting bulk samples of building materials and analyzed by use of a microscope for the presence of asbestos by an accredited laboratory. Post asbestos abatement testing is performed by collecting air into a cassette. The filter in the cassette is then analyzed for the presence or absence of asbestos fibers, to ensure asbestos fibers released in the air are under a certain limit.

Mold Testing
Mold testing is performed by the use of swab, tape lift, bulk and air sampling. Swab, tape lift and bulk sampling is performed by collecting visible suspect mold and analyzed for the species and amount of fungi present. Air sampling is performed by collecting air into a cassette after which the slide inside the cassette is analyzed for the species and amount of mold spores in the air.

Lead Testing
Lead testing is performed by collecting bulk samples of building materials which include paint chips and analyzed for the presence and levels of lead. Lead testing is also performed by use of lead wipes. This is usually done after remediation by wiping certain areas to ensure settled lead dust has been successfully removed.

Bacterial Matter/Sewage Screen Testing
Testing for bacterial matter contamination is performed by collecting swab samples of the affected area. Sewage contamination generally involves analysis for organisms that are called “indicators”. The common indicators to test for fecal contamination are E. coli, total coliforms and Enterococcus. When testing we use ATP surface swab samples or viable (cultured) swab samples. We also conduct a visual assessment for signs of visible bacterial contaminations in the affected area.
